Lakes Free Range

75% Savings on Electricity and over 71% saved on CO²

PROJECT: Installation replacing low bay 250w metal halides

Lakes Free Range are making a very bold step in trying to become carbon neutral.  The company is making large steps to dramatically reduce their carbon emissions and reduce their running costs in difficult times. They currently run other forms of energy saving such as wind turbines and solar to help reduce their energy consumption.

Therefore the company decided on replacing large number of their lights for Low Energy Designs intelligent LED lighting system that are made in the UK.

The factory operates twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week, so requires an extremely high level of quality lighting. A lighting system designed by Low Energy Designs Ltd enabled Lakeland Free Range to dramatically reduce their power usage without whilst increasing their lighting quality.

The LED products with their inbuilt light sensor allowed the lights to operate automatically and independently, switching on and off in response to the ambient light inside the building.

In addition, during low traffic periods, the lights can be configured to switch on and off or to dim in accordance with a predefined time schedule.

Because Low Energy Designs unique intelligent lighting system can be controlled wirelessly to customise the lighting 100% as the customer requires, this lends the system to make further savings by customising every light output to make further savings by either dimming, on/off times, motion activation etc.

The next phase of rollout with the client will involve the LED lighting system to be powered solely from solar and wind turbine DC power.
