Kungsleden achieve 82% lower energy costs.

PROJECT: To reduce energy consumption in Kungsleden’s properties by 20 percent by 2020.

The Brief-

Kungsleden is one of Sweden’s largest listed property companies focusing on long term ownership, active management, improving and developing commercial properties in chosen growth regions. Kungsleden renovated one of their parking garages on Vendevägen in Danderyd, Sweden due to exposure to fire. During the renovation, Kungsleden decided to use low-energy LED lighting. They wanted an energy efficient and smart lighting solution, using as few fittings as possible without compromising on light quality.

Kungsleden has set a long term target of reducing energy consumption in their properties by 20 percent by 2020. Choosing our most energy efficient LED solution is a step towards the goal.

The Solution-

In the parking garage on Vendevägen we chose to in

stall our LumiROD 414. This fixture is a noncorrosive LED product providing over 140 lumens per watt. Daylight 5300 Kelvin color temperature was chosen in order to increase visibility in the garage. The luminaire is also fully dimmable from 0-100%.
The luminaire can be equipped with built in light and motion sensor or it can be controlled / dimmable with DALI or 10 VDC motion sensors. This integrated motion sensor can be set to the lowest setting, for when no presence is detected, at between 0-90% of the original light output. The time for how long the luminaire shall be operated at full power when the motion is detected is continuously adjustable.

In this garage the fixtures have been set to the lowest setting using 25% power (9 watts). When motion is detected the light output increases up to 36 watts (full power) over six minutes. The motion sensor can be modified on site with a remote control if you for example wanted a particular fixture to stay on longer, or if you want it to go down to the lowest setting.

The LumiROD 414 has a high degree of protection (IP66) with a smooth top side which is well suited for parking garages or other dirty areas. This means that the luminaire shines longer and brighter with less maintenance requirements.
