Vittraskolan request energy efficient lighting after seeing neighbouring results!
PROJECT: To Install energy efficient lighting
Earlier this year, ProCivita’s high school installed a new daylight-like Smart LED ™ light. After seeing the results from ProCivita, at phase II of the renovation of the school, Vittraskolan also requested a daylight-like lighting.
AcadeMedia, which owns and operates both Vittra Schools and ProCivitas High School, is investing more and more in giving students a better learning environment while saving maximum energy on the lighting.
New lighting solutions selected for reading rooms were installed producing a daylight white light (5300 Kelvin, the same as sunlight on a sunny day) with the possibility of dimming via simple pressure dimmers. The luminaire chosen, the Sky Panel 66, is a smart LED luminaire that has an efficiency factor of over 120 lumens per watt. It provides a luminous flux of 4650 lumens and is dimmable via DALI or 10VDC and are fully dimmable between 0-100%. The high luminous flux reduces the number of luminaires, which also reduces installation costs.
Switching the lights on and off is no longer a requirement since the lights can be controlled by presence detectors which have been installed in all rooms throughout the school. Teachers and students receive illumination when they first enter an empty room and no longer have that worry about forgetting to switch them off. This helps the school to save maximum energy.
In corridors, assembly areas and toilets an energy efficient smart downlight has been installed. The luminaire called the Glow 165 CTC is an extremely efficient luminaire, it is easy to install, can be dimmed and has the ability to change colour temperature. This means that you can change from daylight white to mimic mid-day daylight or warm white to mimic a sunset orange for in the evenings.
The new lighting has received a lot of positive comments from students and teachers at school.
