Trial of LED lighting in Tralee, Ireland

Tralee Council have taken the active lead in making a difference by reducing power usage by installing a combination of LED street and flood lights into the prestigious Tralee Square and Abbey Court.

The aim is to reduce the power consumption by 67% and save 8,541kg of CO2 per year on the square alone.

Initial results are showing a 55% saving without comparing all of the existing light with the new lights as they were on a separate circuit.

The CCTV footage of the square before and after were examined by the Gardi to ensure that the light was increased to help identify and enhance the CCTV performance.

Low Energy Designs wins contract to deploy the SunFIRE™ street lighting into Lagos Nigeria

After conducting trials and competing against 30 other LED light manufacturers in Ado Ekiti State, PNN Nigeria is awarded the contract with Low Energy Designs UK to supply its SunFIRE™LED light with power saving features into one of the busiest streets in Lagos. Within the next 6 weeks over 400 lights will now be deployed in conjunction with the power bunker. This will save the Lagos State Government over 60% but more like 80% compared with the current sodium lighting solution. The SunFIRE™ lights are fully approved by SONCAP and are ready for importation. This system will also be deployed with the remote monitoring and control system, this will enable Low Energy Designs Nigeria to offer the Lagos State Government the opportunity to 100% customise the lighting to suit their requirement by dimming or switching off the lights at any given time to save further power. This solution is perfect for solar powered LED lights as the lights can be customised to suit the lighting requirement and solar panel/battery size to avoid failure (which is common place)

Further details and enquires can be obtained through Low Energy Designs Nigeria or directly through Low Energy Designs Ltd. (See contact details)
