AIA - ANNUAL INVESTMENT ALLOWANCE - All of UK

The AIA allows UK businesses to deduct the full value of an item that qualifies for annual investment allowance (AIA) from your profits before tax. LED lighting is a qualified item.

The AIA amount has temporarily increased to £1 million between 1 January 2019 and 31 March 2023.

LOW CARBON DORSET - Dorset

Low Carbon Dorset is a five year programme of activities to help stimulate growth in Dorset’s low carbon economy and reduce the county’s footprint.

Low Carbon Dorset have nearly allocated all our grant pot – but they would still like to hear from businesses, community groups and public sector organisations looking for help with their low carbon projects. 

Grants have been available to help organisations deliver renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.  Typically, these grants have covered up to 40% of project costs depending on the type of project and organisation applying.

GREEN BUSINESS GRANT - Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol or South Gloucestershire.

West of England Green Business Grants support SMEs to improve the energy efficiency of buildings and business operations. This helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and can save businesses money on utility bills.

Grants up to £15,000 will be made available to small & medium sized enterprises in the West of England to pay for 30-60% of eligible capital costs, depending on your business’ size, location and project.

EMPHASIS3 - Enterprise M3 LEP region.

EMphasis3 CO2 Reductions (EMphasis3) is an ERDF funded SME support project. It combines the expertise and experience of the University of Portsmouth - lead partner, the University of Winchester and the cleantech cluster, Greentech South.

Grants are available at up to 36% (£25,000max) of total eligible costs and are paid once the work is done and paid for.

Enterprise M3 LEP region - covers mid and north Hampshire and south west Surrey, stretching from the hinterland of London, along the lines of the M3 motorway to the New Forest taking in several towns in Hampshire and Surrey (including Aldershot, Andover, Basingstoke, Camberley, Farnborough, Guildford, Staines-upon-Thames, Whitehill & Bordon and Woking) and the city of Winchester.

NET ZERO WORCESTERSHIRE GRANT - Worcestershire

The Net Zero Worcestershire Grant provides free energy and resource efficiency reviews and grants of up to £20,000 for SME businesses within Worcestershire who wish to use their energy more efficiently; reducing costs and improving environmental credentials and impacts.

THE SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP - East Sussex (excluding Brighton & Hove)

The Sustainable Business Partnership CIC is administering a grant scheme funded by East Sussex County Council designed to help businesses reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

An SME may apply for a grant between £200- £1000 to cover a maximum 40% of the total value of their energy efficiency project through the Sustainable Business Partnership CIC.

The Coventry decarbonisation Programme supports businesses with fewer than 250 employees based in Coventry who want to save money on energy, waste and water bills and maximise low carbon opportunities.

You can receive funding of to £15,000 towards replacing existing inefficient systems and equipment within your business, and installation of new smart systems to help you save energy.

MANCHESTER ENERGY EFFICIENCY GRANT - Greater Manchester

If you have a small or medium-sized business in Greater Manchester, you may be eligible for the Energy Efficiency Grant of between £1,000 and £2,500 from GC Business Growth Hub, to help with up to 50% of the costs of your energy efficiency improvements.

The resource efficiency fund provides advice and grants of up to £10,000 to small and medium-sized businesses in Leeds City Region (not Barnsley) to help them lower their carbon footprint, energy use and water and waste costs.

SPORTS ENGLAND - QUEENS PLATINUM JUBILEE ACTIVITY FUN - All of UK

This Programme seeks to develop opportunities for communities to get more people physically active and we'll support new projects through providing National Lottery funding of between £300 and £15,000.

The Net Zero Grant Programme (NZGP) will deliver information and expert advice and support to businesses enabling them to make significant changes to resource and energy efficiencies. NZGP is part of the wider West Midlands Business Support activity funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

TARGET 2030 - Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire.

Target 2030 is a business energy efficiency project that aims to support small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire to achieve a change in their energy consumption, putting them on a more sustainable footing for the future.

Grants are in the range of £500 to £60,000. The grant is subject to meeting a minimum carbon saving and covers 30% of the cost of purchase and installation.

PECT EASTERN NEW ENERGY - Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.

PECT’s role is to provide grants to eligible small and medium-sized businesses, to help catalyse capital investments in energy efficiency initiatives. The intervention rate will be up to 25% – exact value of the grant awarded will be based on the cost (£) per tonne of carbon saved.

LOW CARBON WORKSPACES - Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes.

With a match-funded grant of between £1,000 - £5,000 you can recover up to a third of the cost of many different energy-saving measures reducing the upfront cost and the time to recover your investment.

Low Carbon Across the South and East (LOCASE) - East Sussex, Essex, Kent, Medway, Southend and Thurrock, Croydon, East Surrey, Gatwick Diamond, Brighton & Hove, Lewes and West Sussex, West Surrey & Hampshire and the Solent areas.

Grant funding up to a maximum of £10,000 can be awarded to your organisation to improve your business performance and profitability. Maximum 40% ERDF grant contributions will remain at a limit of £10K with the minimum grant of £1K for qualifying projects.

LOW CARBON SME'S - Birmingham, Solihull, Wyre Forest, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

This grant is for businesses to access capital grants to purchase, for example, energy saving equipment or to make process improvements that can be used to hasten the implementation of carbon saving projects.

The maximum intervention rate is 50%. For example, the total project expenditure must be a minimum of £6,000 to receive a £3,000 grant.

Low Carbon Business Evolution Programme (LCBEP) - Stoke on Trent & Staffordshire LEP

The Low Carbon Business Evolution Programme (LCBEP) will help businesses across Stoke on Trent & Staffordshire LEP reduce their carbon footprint and increase energy efficiency.

Grant funding of between £2,000 – £20,000 (up to 60% of your net costs covered) to help businesses implement recommendations.

This project offers a comprehensive programme of free support for local SMEs who want to reduce their carbon emissions and improve their business.

REBIZ LEP - Bradford, Calderdale, Craven, Harrogate, Kirklees, Leeds, Selby, Wakefield, York, Richmondshire, Hambleton, Ryedale, and Scarborough.

The Resource Efficient Business (REBiz) programme provides advice and financial support for small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to become more resource efficient, and adopt circular business models and practices.

SME ENERGY EFFICIENCY SCHEME - Tees Valley, Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees.

If your business has an idea for a project which would result in significant carbon savings, you could be eligible for a SMEES grant to claim back up to 45% of the upfront capital costs.
