New Ecodesign Requirements

In response to the UK Government's proposed minimum efficacy performance standards (MEPS) for light sources, our company recognises the importance of energy efficiency and sustainability in the lighting industry. The rules, introduced by the former Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy, are a significant step towards promoting environmentally friendly practices.

The mandated minimum energy performance standard (MEPS) of 120 lm/W in 2023, with an increase to 140 lm/W in 2027, reflects a commitment to advancing energy-efficient technologies. However, the industry faces challenges as a substantial number of lamps currently available on the market fall short of the proposed standards, potentially leading to their effective banning this autumn.

These draft proposals, integral to the lighting efficacy standards of the Energy-related Products Policy Framework, were unveiled in November 2021. The proposed measures are set to take effect this November, marking a crucial milestone in the industry's journey towards sustainable and energy-efficient lighting solutions.

As our company embraces innovation and sustainability, we are actively engaged in adapting our product offerings to meet and exceed the proposed standards. By aligning ourselves with these regulations, we aim to contribute to the larger goal of reducing energy consumption and environmental impact.

In line with our commitment to sustainability and innovation, we are pleased to highlight that all of our LED lighting products already meet or surpass the proposed minimum efficacy performance standards (MEPS) set by the UK Government. With a focus on energy efficiency, our lighting solutions consistently achieve lumens per watt (lm/W) values that exceed the stipulated 120 lm/W standard for 2023.

Our proactive approach to exceeding regulatory requirements positions us as a leader in the industry, demonstrating our dedication to providing cutting-edge, environmentally conscious lighting solutions. As the government's rules take effect and the industry adapts to the changing landscape, our customers can trust that our products not only meet but exceed the established standards.

By investing in our products, customers not only contribute to their own
energy savings but also align with broader sustainability goals.

We remain committed to staying ahead of industry regulations, continuously enhancing our product offerings, and supporting our customers in their efforts to adopt eco-friendly practices.

As we navigate the evolving landscape of lighting standards, we invite our customers and partners to explore our range of products, where superior energy efficiency is not just a compliance measure but a core feature of our commitment to a greener future.
