Donations for Ukraine Aid

UPDATE: MONDAY 14.03.22 - Our neighbours Crazy Monsters are taking donations.

11 more pallets of Ukraine Aid Donations have left our warehouse this morning, that’s 29 all together!! We thank every single person who has donated or gave some of their time to help us.

As you can imagine Poland have been inundated with donations and now have the huge logistical problem of storing and sorting through. At this time we are awaiting advice from the Polish Authorities as to what is essentially needed so we can ask for those items only however the Polish Authorities are now encouraging people to donate rather than provide physical items. Below are two verified organisations that will benefit from your direct support, as we believe this is the best way to help under the current circumstances.

  1. Lviv based humanitarian volunteer mission Donate in UA (https://donate.in.ua/) based off of the IT company Crunch and IT recruitment agency Staffing Partner. Their goal is to provide immediate humanitarian assistance to the front lines; including first aid and transportation of injured soldiers, assisting women and children at border crossings, as well as to refugees living in shelters all over the country.

  2. Homo Faber, is a small charity based in Lublin, Poland which focuses on human rights. Shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Homo Faber set up a refugee aid system in Lublin; while working almost 24 hours a day, they provide direct and indirect help to people escaping Ukraine. Today they cover 17 different areas of refugee support with over 100 volunteers on board. You can also find out more about Homo Faber here.

Although many places stopped collecting physical donations, Castle Point run by Help from Bournemouth to Ukraine group continue with collection of physical items. Please check their Facebook if you want to get involved or want to know more details.

You can follow this link to see the Dorset for Ukraine Facebook page where you can read updates from the biggest collections points around Dorset including what they have done so far and are continuing to do to help the people of Ukraine. You may also find some information about how you can help volunteer at some of the collections points.

We are still closed for donations until further notice but our friendly neighbours Crazy Monsters over the road will be taking in donations over the next week or so.

Keep an eye on our website or Facebook, we will let you know when we are open again.

Director of Low Energy Designs Ltd, Alan Parker says:
“With the devastating current crisis, we wanted to do something to help those affected and let them know that we support and stand with the people of Ukraine. By opening up a drop-off point at our business in Blandford Forum we can store, help organise and ship the most essential items to refugees who have been given no choice but to leave their own homes and country for the safety of themselves and their families. We honestly cannot comprehend what they must be going through, in this day and age it’s extremely saddening to see but we will continue to support Ukraine and keep our doors open for donations for however long we need to, so if you can donate any of the requested items then please do so.”
