The Brief -

This prestigious Tennis Centre in south-west London is a high-performance training facility of the Lawn Tennis association. The Tennis Centre has a range of world-class tennis courts used by the country’s top tennis players, GB’s Davis and Fed Cup teams and the development of Britain’s future tennis stars, as well as hosting a range of LTA tournaments.

Our aim at the Tennis Centre was to provide and install a controllable LED lighting solution to their 6 indoor tennis courts. This system should also meet the highest LTA lighting standards.

The Solution -

The best solution to meet these requirements was our SunSHINE LED. This LED luminaire is perfect for tennis applications thanks to the reduced glare lens, minimal light spillage and high uniformity.

Incorporating a DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) lighting system will enable control of each tennis court lighting separately to allow switching between different courts and different lighting levels for various levels of play. The system is also controlled by a PIR presence detector installed on one side of each court. This will reduce the light output or turn off the light when the courts are not in use which will save the Tennis Centre energy and the costs associated.

We created 5 pre-set levels which can be used across all 6 indoor courts:

• 350 lux - Recreational

• 500 lux - Elite training

• 750 lux - Challenger Level Events

• 1000 lux - Top Level Competition

• 1500 lux - Televised Events
