Project: To upgrade the outdoor lighting in the cargo area at the distribution centre.

The Brief -

ICA Group have chosen to go green with LED as the company upgrade its outdoor lighting at the distribution centre in Kallhäll outside Stockholm. Here in the cargo area at ICA's distribution unit in Kallhäll outside Stockholm, the old lighting on the masts needed to be replaced for reasons of age and cost savings. The masts contained a mixture of 1000 and 400 watt halogen headlights mounted at a height of 18 meters.

The Solution -

ICA decided to install our smart LED light, the SunBURST 8 Ultra, with optics that make it a powerful headlight. The SunBURST is a compact small luminaire made entirely of cast aluminium and with a high ingress protection (IP66). It gives a luminous flux of about 15,000 lumens. A variant with a colour temperature of 5,500K (daylight white) was chosen for the best possible working environment.

Our Phoenix 9 LED luminaire with built-in motion sensor was mounted on the loading docks. When no activity is going on near these sensors, they are dimmed down to 30 watts.

The Phoenix and SunBURST have been replaced with the Norrsken and SunSHINE.
