Project: To switch the sign lighting to LED

The Brief -

The IKEA department store in Borlänge, one of the newest department stores in Sweden, needed to replace the existing external sign lighting after the luminaires were hit by water penetration. Consequently, IKEA Real Estate had to replace the luminaires even though they were relatively new.

IKEA work proactively to reduce the company's environmental impact and therefore need reliable and energy-efficient lighting solutions.

The Solution -

IKEA had previously changed the sign lighting at the department store in Kungens Kurva and wanted the same proven solution at the department store in Borlänge. Therefore, we used the same solution, the SunBURST 8.

By installing this solution, we were able to reduce the number of luminaires from before by half. The luminaire has a high degree of protection (IP66) and is made of cast aluminium. High quality drivers and diodes ensure a long service life. In addition, the luminaires were delivered with brackets and custom optics so that it could be mounted on existing arms. This resulted in a cost-effective installation.

The SunBURST 8 has been replaced by the SunSHINE.
