Project: To install a new lighting solution that would have a higher degree of protection to avoid contaminated sources.

The Brief -

Green Park, as the name suggests, have a clear goal to create greener environments in their parking garages. In the parking garage of the Pilotgtan, in Skarpnäck outside Stockholm, there were a number of old, partly torn fluorescent fixtures with 2 × 36 watt light bulbs. Green Park wanted a new lighting solution that would have a higher degree of protection to avoid contaminated sources.

The Solution -

Taking into consideration Green Parks requirements, we chose to use the LumiROD 414. This luminaire provides over 140 lumens per watt. Day White, 5300 Kelvin color temperature was chosen in order to increase visibility in the garage. Day White lighting helps to define colour and facial recognition, essential for CCTV, which helps create a safer environment.

The LumiROD 414 is also fully dimmable from 0-100%. The luminaire can be equipped with a built-in light and motion sensor or it can be controlled / dimmed with DALI or 10VDC motion sensors. In this garage we set the luminaires to the lowest setting using 25% power (9 watts). When motion is detected the lights will adjust to 36 watts (full power) for six minutes. The motion sensor can be modified on site with a remote control if you want a particular fixture to stay on longer, or if you want it to go down on the lowest setting.

The LumiROD 414 has a high degree of protection (IP66) with a smooth top side which is well suited for parking garages or other dirty areas. This means that the luminaire shines longer and brighter with virtually no maintenance requirements.
