The Brief -

Dexam, a kitchenware supplier based in the UK, faced various challenges with their existing lighting system, primarily due to poor light levels caused by old fluorescent tubes. As fluorescent tubes will be banned from the UK market starting September 2023, finding replacements became a pressing concern for Dexam. Additionally, the maintenance costs and issues associated with changing the fluorescent tubes were significant.

The Solution -

After careful evaluation of Dexam's requirements, Low Energy Designs recommended replacing the old fluorescent tubes with the LED LumiROD light. The LumiROD lights are designed to offer high energy efficiency, long-lasting performance, and intelligent sensor capabilities such as motion detection. The majority of their facility is used for warehousing, and footfall in many areas is minimal. As a result, optimising the lighting system to be more energy-efficient and responsive to motion detection was a priority.

The LED lighting installation project commenced promptly after approval, replacing a total of 125 x tubes with only 112 x LumiROD's. The entire process took less than two weeks to complete, causing minimal disruption to Dexam's operations.

The successful implementation of low-energy intelligent LED lighting significantly improved Dexam's lighting conditions while providing substantial cost savings. The transition away from fluorescent tubes was seamless and timely, ensuring compliance with the upcoming UK market regulations.
