Project: To enhance player experience with adaptable lighting

PRODUCTS USED: RETROFIT, BESPOKE SOLUTION

The Brief -

Bishop Park Tennis was battling the high costs and maintenance demands of their ageing halide fittings. With 9 x 2000W fixtures burning through power — and spare parts becoming rare and expensive — it was time to make a decisive move. The goal? Cut the hassle, boost performance, and reduce the club’s carbon footprint, all without a full infrastructure overhaul.

The Solution -

We retrofitted our high-efficiency 720W LED luminaires into the existing green box housings — a clean swap that transformed the lighting system without touching the structural setup. Same number of fittings (9), but now pulling just 720W each instead of 2000W — a massive efficiency gain with zero compromise on performance.

Savings That Add Up:

  • £5,400+ in annual energy savings

  • 4.2 tonnes of CO2 emissions avoided per year

  • 16,000+ kWh in electricity saved annually

Lighting Performance:

  • 500 lux on the PPA

  • 400 lux on the TPA

  • Fully compliant with LTA tennis lighting guidelines

Out with the energy guzzlers, in with the future. Bishop Park Tennis now enjoys brighter courts, lower costs, and zero stress chasing obsolete parts. With this retrofit, they’ve shown that sustainability and smart economics go hand in hand — and that brighter thinking doesn’t always mean starting from scratch.

We are all super happy with the LED lighting that’s been installed. From the survey to lights to install everything has been fantastic.
