The Brief -
Epping Tennis Club has transformed its outdoor tennis courts with the installation of our SunSHINE 10 LED floodlights, replacing an ageing lighting system that had become increasingly unreliable and expensive to operate.
The previous installation consisted of 2kW floodlights, one of which had already failed due to a blown ballast, highlighting the need for a modern, dependable lighting solution. By upgrading to LED technology, the club has significantly improved lighting performance while dramatically reducing energy consumption and ongoing maintenance costs.
The Solution -
To achieve the required lighting levels, 8x SunSHINE 10 LED floodlights were installed across four existing columns using twin mounting brackets. Operating at just 600W per luminaire, each fitting delivers a power reduction of 1.4kW compared to the previous system, providing substantial energy savings without compromising light quality.
The new installation now provides an average of 400 lux on the playing area, delivering bright, uniform illumination across two outdoor courts to enhance visibility and improve the playing experience for members throughout the year.
