Project: To install reliable lighting and improve uniformity

The Brief -

St Georges Hill Lawn Tennis Club has a commitment to sustainability and green initiatives. They initially installed LED lighting to improve energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint. However, the existing LED system was starting to fail, and the uniformity levels of the lighting were suboptimal.

Reason for Switching to New LED Lighting:

  • System Failures: The current LED lights were beginning to fail, which impacted the quality of lighting on the tennis courts.

  • Replacement Issues: Obtaining replacement parts for the existing system was becoming increasingly difficult.

  • Quality of Light: The uniformity of the lighting was not meeting the club's standards, leading to uneven illumination of the courts.

The Solution -

To address these issues, St Georges Hill Lawn Tennis Club decided to replace their Pulsar floodlights with Low Energy Designs' LumiMOD LED lights. Per court, 32x LumiMOD lights were installed, each fitted with a Bluetooth unit to allow individual programming via the Koolmesh app. Additionally, sensors were installed at each end of Court 1 and Court 2, enabling centralised control of the lights within each court. The installation included pre-programming five different playing levels to meet the club’s specific needs.

The installation of the new LED lighting system has significantly improved the quality and uniformity of light on the indoor tennis courts at St Georges Hill Lawn Tennis Club. The upgrade has not only enhanced the playing conditions for members but also aligns with the club’s sustainability goals by providing a more reliable and energy-efficient lighting solution.

Very easy and professional company to deal with throughout the project. I would recommend them to other tennis clubs in the future.
