Project: To install a light-weight LED lighting system

The Brief -

The Bridgend Tennis, Squash, and Bowls Club initiated a project to implement a low-energy LED lighting solution in their newly constructed Dome Tennis Court. The primary goal was to introduce a lightweight LED lighting system that would not only offer adequate illumination levels for tennis play but also incorporate intelligent sensors for enhanced functionality.

The Solution -

After the installation of the bespoke LED lighting solution which we called the LITEMOD, the club observed the following outcomes:

Court 1: Principal Playing Area (PPA) 855 lux - uniformity factor of 0.86
Court 1: Total Playing Area (TPA) 698 lux - uniformity factor of 0.61
Court 2: PPA 833 lux - uniformity factor of 0.88
Court 2: TPA 689 lux - uniformity factor of 0.63

These measurements confirm that the lighting system provides ample illumination for optimal gameplay on both courts.

In addition to the lighting levels, daylight harvesting played a crucial role in further enhancing energy efficiency. By dynamically adjusting the light output based on the availability of natural daylight, the system effectively reduces energy consumption. Furthermore, the integration of sensor-based controls and an automatic shut-off feature significantly improve convenience for club members and staff, eliminating the need for manual light switching.

Overall, the successful install of the LED lighting solution at Bridgend Tennis, Squash, and Bowls Club not only provided sufficient illumination for gameplay but also contributed to energy efficiency. The incorporation of advanced features such as daylight harvesting and sensor-based controls demonstrated the club's commitment to sustainability and convenience for its members.

Great service overall from the start to finish, working well with the Club to achieve maximum and
deliver the best result even in the challenging conditions.
