Project: To increase the light output in the warehouse

The Brief -

When Castellum real estate group were faced with the decision to upgrade the lighting at DANX Express logistics centre in Stockholm, they wanted an energy efficient and smart lighting solution that provided a higher light out put than their existing lighting. The aim for Castellum is to create a better working environment at DANX Express.

DANX Express conducts a business that runs around the clock but periodically areas of the warehouse can become rather quiet. Finding a smart lighting solution that can save energy when no one is present in the room was one of Danx’s biggest requirements.

The Solution -

The new lighting solution was designed for >300 lux in average illuminance on all surfaces. The SmartROD 80 was best suited for this application, thanks to having an intelligent built-in light and motion sensor. These are set to dim down to 10% power after 10 minutes of the last detected movement, then turn off 30 minutes later. The sensor settings can be easily changed with a remote control from the floor.

With an energy efficiency of over 165 lumens / watt, the SmartROD is a real light machine providing more light than traditional luminaires. In addition to energy efficiency, they also provide a colour temperature of 5300 Kelvin, similar to natural daylight. This daylight-like light seems invigorating, improving the visibility and concentration of those working in the warehouse.
